Zopa lends £100m in one month

Zopa lent £100m through its peer-to-peer platform in November – its largest ever month of lending.

Zopa claimed that it had become the first consumer peer-to-peer lender to reach this milestone figure in a month.

The lender stated that up to the end of November it had lent more than £900m in 2017.

Zopa also claimed that back in January it became the first peer-to-peer lender to reach £2bn in total lending, and expected to hit £3bn in January 2018.

The lender has put the increased volume partly down to its integration with price comparison websites.

Jaidev Janardana, CEO at Zopa (pictured above), said: “Our record month in November shows that UK consumers are looking for simpler and fairer loan products.

“We are very pleased to see that we are reaching even more people with our competitive rates and great customer experience without compromising our prudent lending criteria.”
