SDKA appoints new underwriter to support lending growth

Northern bridging lender SDKA has announced the appointment of Kate Gregory (pictured above) as an underwriter to support its increase in lending.

Kate previously worked at Chorley Building Society.

The role is expected to enhance the lender’s efficiency, as Kate will be involved in the entire loan journey with the client, from application to loan redemption.

Kunal Mehta, managing director at SDKA, said: “The last two months [have] been the busiest we have seen in new loans completing and applications.

“Having oversight of the whole process, we feel, supports the underwriting process.

“Kate has already been involved with a number of loans in the past week, including an auction purchase, loan to a pension fund on a listed building and lending on commercial premises.”

Kate added: “I am thrilled to be joining SDKA Ltd at a time when the company is going through tremendous growth.

“Coming from a specialist underwriting background, this is an amazing opportunity for me to expand my knowledge and have a more hands-on approach.”

Earlier this year, SDKA revealed it was aiming to extend its reach to more brokers after attracting a new source of funding in the form of small self-administered scheme (SSAS) pensions funds.
