Blue Square Capital names new head of origination

Bridging lender Blue Square Capital has appointed Daniel Glicksman (pictured above) as its head of origination.

Daniel explained his new role entails getting the Blue Square name out in the market, as well as calling and visiting brokers and borrowers.

He will also be in charge of marketing, hiring staff, driving the sales team, building partnerships with packagers and networks, and ensuring the company achieves its targets.

Daniel brings extensive knowledge, experience, drive and passion to the team at the specialist finance provider, which has recently moved to a new eco-friendly office in Golders Green, London.

He has had over 25 years’ experience in finance and banking, including 16 years at Barclays and working for lenders and brokers.

“I am extremely proud and excited to be leading this team, and I feel we can make a real difference,” said Daniel.

The first- and second-charge lender provides up to 75% LTV (of OMV) in England and Wales and has loan sizes from £100,000 to £5m.

The company is operating a back-to-basics, ‘no frills’ bridging proposition, with the main objectives being speed of completion, simple process, and keeping introducers continually informed.

Daniel told B&C that Blue Square Capital plans to launch some exciting products in the near future.

To further support the increased demand the bridging lender has for its proposition, Shahed Popat (pictured above) has also joined the team as a senior BDM.

Like Daniel, he will be liaising with brokers and borrowers.

For the past three years, Shahed held BDM roles at West One Loans and Enterprise Finance.

Talking about his new position, Shahed said: “I’m delighted to be part of this journey as I see real value in what we have to offer.”
