As part of its ESG-driven lending, the firm is offering customers who hold BTL mortgages with the specialist lender in their individual names the opportunity to claim a free energy efficiency survey, EPC certificate and tailored action plan.

This follows several initiatives implemented by the lender at the beginning of the year, including launching a similar offer for homeowner customers, as well as improving its criteria to remove restrictions around properties with solar panels.
It also launched a partnership with Ecologi to provide ongoing financial support to the organisation to fund its tree planting and carbon reduction activities.

“In the coming years, BTL landlords will have a responsibility to ensure that their properties meet a minimum EPC rating of C and we are really pleased to be able to launch this initiative that offers them some help in achieving that.”
