The Certified Practitioner in Specialist Property Finance (CPSP) optional e-learning programme will comprise 12 topics in total written by 18 authors, covering different areas, such as bridging and commercial loans, BTL mortgages and development finance.
Each topic will provide a range of content — including questions throughout each module to test the applicant’s knowledge gained up to that point — presented in animated and interactive ways.
The modules will also contain a case study section, for which the person taking the course will be given a scenario and questionnaire based on it.
Each module will end with a ‘Test Your Knowledge’ section containing several multiple-answer questions.
- What does the specialist finance industry need in 2023 and beyond?
- FIBA and ASTL confirm framework for industry education programme
- FIBA and ASTL aim to launch education programme by end of 2022
Once all the modules are completed, the person taking the CPSP course will take a two-hour exam — either at a test centre or via remote invigilation — consisting of two parts: a 50 multiple choice questionnaire worth 50 marks; and four case studies with five linked multiple choice questions worth 20 marks.
Those who have completed the course will receive a digital badge.
According to Adam Tyler, executive chairman at FIBA, registration for the CPSP programme will start in the first week of December, with the course expected to officially start rolling out in Q1 2023.
“We’ve worked really hard to bring this programme to life,” said Adam, who stated that the time was right to now launch the programme — something that was not possible eight years ago, when he previously worked on the education course in collaboration with the late Benson Hersch.
“There is momentum now, things have changed completely.”
