Cambridge & Counties Bank names new chairman

Cambridge & Counties Bank has appointed Patrick Newberry (pictured above) as its new chairman.

He succeeds Simon Moore, who has retired from the bank after 10 years as a board member.

Patrick joined the specialist lender as a non-executive director in June 2021 and became chair of audit three months later.

He spent the bulk of his career at PwC, where he focused on strategy and performance improvement, as well as other matters within the financial services and insurance sectors.

“I’m honoured to be taking on the role of chairman at a time when Cambridge & Counties Bank is continuing to expand its presence across the UK and building on its strong growth momentum,” Patrick commented.

“The bank’s tailored approach and deep relationships with clients and brokers allows it to offer a differentiated service, and we have seen continued demand across 2022.”

In June, Cambridge & Counties Bank reached £1bn of lending, while its staff numbers increased to over 200 for the first time in its 10-year history.
