Launched as the BridgeCrowd in 2014 and rebranding as Somo in 2020, the firm’s ethos of ‘slow and steady wins the race’ has played out with over a quarter of a billion pounds lent in live and fully redeemed loans.
Its team has over 300 combined years’ experience in the sector, made up of seasoned bridging specialists that provide human touch client service.

The firm experienced 20% growth during 2022 and is now experiencing record breaking months this year — as a result, doubling its investor relations team, with average client returns trending at over 10% p.a.
“From the beginning, our founder has said that slow and steady wins the race and this has proved to be the right strategy for us and our investors,” said Simon Cottrell, head of recoveries and investor relations at Somo (pictured above).
“We pride ourselves on the strength of our recovery team, who get actively involved in about a third of Somo’s loans and are a key reason we’ve succeeding at repaying 1,000 loans.”
