The appointment is part of the restructuring of the bank’s bridging underwriting function into two dedicated teams to manage either regulated or unregulated bridging applications.
Helen — who joined UTB in August 2019 as a credit officer — has worked in finance for almost 20 years in various roles in credit and portfolio and relationship management with lenders including Metro Bank, RBS and HSBC.
In her new role, Helen aims to offer brokers a quick and efficient service.

She will be working closely with Becky; Anita Kirkbright, head of operations for bridging; Paula Purdy, recently appointed head of sales for bridging ; and Sundeep Patel, director of bridging, where she will be developing and delivering the bank’s strategy for further growth in the regulated and unregulated sectors.
“I am delighted to be joining UTB’s bridging finance team at this exciting time, and I look forward to working with Sundeep, Becky, Anita and Paula as we grow UTB’s share of the unregulated and regulated bridging market,” said Helen.
Sundeep added: “Since joining the bank, Helen has proven to be a talented member of the credit team and her knowledge and experience made her the perfect choice for this new role.”
Earlier this year, Becky Kidby was appointed to lead the underwriting team for regulated bridging applications.
