RAW Capital Partners hires organisational psychologist as head of people

RAW Capital Partners has appointed organisational psychologist Kate Gibson (pictured above), as its new head of people.

Kate joins the firm from Channel Islands management consultancy CBO, where she specialised in organisational change, designing target operating models and creating development programs for teams across the public and private sectors — she holds an MSc in Organizational Psychology, and a PhD in Immunobiology

She previously spent eight years in London at global investment manager Orbis, as well as spending time at Potential Plus UK and serving as a visiting scholar at City University of London’s Department of Psychology, co-authoring a research paper on gender differences in children.

Kate relocated to Guernsey in 2018, where she worked as an assistant clinical psychologist for the States of Guernsey before joining CBO.

Dr Gibson will now lead RAW Capital Partners’ initiatives for talent acquisition, employee development and organisational culture.

Commenting on her appointment, Kate said: “I’m delighted to be joining RAW Capital Partners at such an exciting time.

“I believe that organisations outperform through the collective efforts of intentional decision-making and setting their people up for success; this new head of people role provides the perfect opportunity to shape the environment to achieve that.

“I’m looking forward to helping the business mature to better meet the needs of our team, our clients and our investors.

“RAW has experienced significant growth in the last 12 months, and I’m excited to play a role in helping the company continue to scale intelligently, with a people-centric and supportive culture.”

Ben Nichols, Interim managing director at RAW Capital Partners, added: “I’m really pleased to welcome Kate to the company.

“Her unique experience across a variety of sectors, in combination with her deep understanding of organisational change and people management, makes her the perfect fit to become our head of people.

“I look forward to seeing how the business and its culture evolves under her leadership.”
