Specialist Finance Academy officially opens to first cohort

The Specialist Finance Academy (SFA) has officially launched, with brokers able to join its inaugural cohort during a five-day soft launch.

The academy will provide tailored resources, training, and support with the aim of helping brokers navigate the complexities of specialist finance confidently.

Kim McGinley, founder of the SFA, is hosting a live webinar today at 11am, explaining details of the academy and how to join.

Commenting on the launch, Kim said: “The launch of the Specialist Finance Academy represents a significant step forward for broker education.

“Specialist finance has often been seen as too complicated, but my mission is to break down barriers and create a supportive community for brokers to thrive.

“With the help of our incredible partners, I believe we can truly change the landscape of specialist finance education.”

Partners giving support to the academy include Allica Bank, Colenko, Octane Capital, One Mortgage System, Mint Property Finance, Ultimate Finance, Knowledge Bank, and Hampshire Trust Bank.

The SFA has already garnered support from key industry players, who have provided their insights and endorsements:

Richard Deacon, managing director at Octane Capital, commented: “Octane are delighted to support Kim with the launch of the Specialist Finance Academy.

“The relationship we have built up with Kim over the years convinces us that this will be nothing other than a huge success.

“Education, support, and mentoring is a big passion of ours at Octane, and if we can assist Kim and her team in order to reach a much wider audience, then it is something we will do without hesitation.”

Michael Mann, broker business development director at Allica Bank, also said: “The specialist mortgage sector has long faced challenges due to a lack of education and community representation.

“We believe this Academy will not only help develop new talent, but also give brokers the confidence and resources they need to thrive. Partnering with Kim on the Specialist Finance Academy is something we are incredibly proud of, and we look forward to seeing this community grow.”

Doors are open for five days until Wednesday 5th February.
