Finanze Capital appoints new CEO

Finanze Capital has appointed Mitchell Bellenie (pictured above) as its new CEO starting today (Wednesday 5th November).

He replaces current chairman and CEO Alastair Hoyne, who oversaw the division since its launch in 2023. Alastair will remain on the credit committee but will refocus his activities on the broader Finanze group.

With many years of experience in real estate and real estate finance, Mitchell has developed an in-depth understanding of property markets across England and Wales.

Beginning his career at an estate agency, he transacted over £100m in property deals across London and the South of England.

In 2017, he transitioned into real estate finance, where he has played a pivotal role in helping start-up lenders expand their loan books.

According to Finanze Capital, Mitchell joins at a key moment of growth for the company. It has issued terms on over £3.2bn of loans since launch but due to more expensive funding and limited appetite had only deployed around £25m.

However, since August 2025 when a new funding line was approved, the business has scaled significantly with £933m of loans in the pipeline.

Former CEO Alastair Hoyne had already made sweeping changes to the business to meet the circa £100m in enquiries being sent in each week by brokers. He stripped his brokerage team and moved them all across to lending within the sales division while Kairan Howard-Shawbell, previously CEO at Finanze Ltd, stepped into the new role of global head of origination and client coverage in lending. He also brought on additional credit and underwriting support, before securing Mitchell’s interest for the position of CEO.

Alastair commented: “Mitch knew our business model inside-out and had already been very supportive of our custom products and different way of approaching deals.

“On that basis, getting him firmly on our side was a no-brainer.

“With knowledge of funding, credit management and sales, it was a chance to bring in someone who could take the business to the next level, from the initial growth I had accomplished.”

Mitchell added: “I am grateful to be given the opportunity to help grow Finanze Capital to new heights as its incoming CEO.

“Finanze Capital has developed a great reputation, a testament to the strong team of individuals already in place, and I am tremendously excited to work alongside such an ambitious and talented group.

“We already have some very exciting projects in the works, and look forward to sharing more about our growth in the coming months.”
