UTB appoints new chief people officer amid aim to double in size

United Trust Bank (UTB) has appointed Sam Bowerman (pictured above) to the role of chief people officer.

Sam will take over from Georgie Reisser-Weston, who is retiring from her role as human resources director after 12 years.

Sam’s career in people development spans more than 25 years, with the last 20 spent performing various senior human resources roles within RBS / NatWest Group.

In addition to taking over responsibility for UTB’s human resources team and activities, Sam will join the bank’s management team, supporting UTB’s new initiatives and its people in delivering growth to realise the bank’s medium-term ambition to double in size.

Harley Kagan, CEO at United Trust Bank, commented: “Sam is a highly experienced banker with a proven track record of running an extensive HR function and helping colleagues to develop their careers and reach their full potential.

“I am delighted that she will be bringing her considerable knowledge and skills to UTB at this very exciting time in our future planning.

“I also want to thank Georgie Reisser-Weston for her immense contribution to the bank and to wish her a very long, healthy and happy retirement.”

On her new role, Sam said: “I’m absolutely delighted to be joining UTB at such an exciting point in its journey.

“The bank has achieved remarkable success to date, and its bold ambition for continued growth and transformation is something I’m thrilled to help drive.”
