A bridging lender’s income fund has been ranked as a leading performer by fund rating group Trustnet.

Montello Bridging Finance’s fund, the Montello Income Fund, had been rated as one of the best performing funds of its kind in the UK.

Financial Express/Trustnet ranked the Montello Income Fund 15th in a list of its top 62 funds, in the category of UK Sterling denominated Strategic Bonds.

The Montello Income Fund, which was launched back at the beginning of 2010, now has a track record that exceeds three years which allows for the fund to be formally ranked by Trustnet.

In entering the ranking, Trustnet commented that the Montello Income Fund was a 'top quartile performer' in its category.

In relation to the recent ranking, Montello Managing Director Christian Faes commented: "We were very happy to learn that the Montello Income Fund has received this recognition. Trustnet is the market leader in fund research and information, and it is a trusted name in the funds management world. To have our fund recognised as one of the leading funds in our category is frankly, very rewarding. It should also go a long way to consolidating our position as the leading real estate bridging finance fund in the UK."

It is understood that Montello has been actively promoting the fund to offshore wealth managers, with a particular focus on the Middle East and Asia.

Christian confirmed the push with offshore investors: "We have recently been promoting the Fund offshore. It is proving to be a very popular investment for investors that are chasing yield and are comfortable with the security of London residential property.

“We have been working with a number of offshore wealth managers that have taken a particular liking to the fund. I was out in Asia last month, and we will be there again next month as part of a leading investor conference in the region to continue our promotion of the fund."
