Andrew John Davies ( SRA ID 4411678) and Steven Astin (SRA 292632) both worked for the Robert Meaton & Co Solicitors firm based in Manchester.

On 8th August, the SRA chose to intervene with the individuals, where the body stated the reasons being: “The Committee was satisfied that grounds for intervention existed under Paragraph 1(1)(a) of Schedule 1 of the Solicitors Act 1974 (as amended) as there was reason to suspect dishonesty on the part of Andrew John Davies in connection with his practice.

The Committee was further satisfied that grounds for intervention existed under the act as Mr Andrew Davies had failed to comply with the rules made by virtue under sections of the act.

Additionally, the Committee was content with the grounds for intervention with the other conveyancer, Mr Steven Astin, as he had failed to comply with the rules made by virtue under the sections of the act.

Intervening agent, Neal Boland of Stephensons Solicitors LLP, was appointed by the SRA.

Robert Meaton & Co advertised itself as a legal service for both individuals and businesses, offering advice on commercial law, litigation, employment advice, commercial property, residential conveyancing, personal injury, licensing, wills, and PPI mis-selling claims.
