Intended to give early warning to property owners who may be the target of property fraud, this is a free service to use. It
automatically sends out email notifications to registered proprietors when ownership transfer applications are received.
The online service is available through the Land Registry website and will allow monitoring of up to ten properties per user. It's also available for people who aren't online, through phone and postal channels.
Common perception states that the bridging and mortgage industries are more sensitive to property fraud than other related economic sectors because of the urgency and speed with which transactions are made.
