An advisor who was a mentor to many has been punished after he abandoned his firm…..

p>A solicitor who was a mentor to many young lawyers has been punished after he abandoned his practice.

A committee was satisfied that grounds for intervention existed under the Solicitors Act 1974 following Mr Jimoh Adun
( SRA ID – 465472)  abandoning his practice at Nieko Solicitors which specialises in Housing law. He acted as the firm’s Principal Solicitor.

The practising abilities of Mr Adun were closed to protect clients’ interests and money and Niel Boland of Stephensons Solicitors LLP was appointed as the intervening agent.

According to the Nieko Solicitor website, Jimoh Adun was the principal solicitor and he had overall responsibility for the management of the firm. “His vision of the firm has led to great achievements,” it continues, going on to describe his “client focused leadership and inclusive management style”. Mr Adun also acts as a mentor to many young lawyers. `

When the SRA stage an intervention, it can halt the individual from operating and take possession of all documents, papers and money. The body will take such action if there are grounds to intervene like suspected dishonesty or a need to protect the public.
