Conveyancing specialist Nationwide Solicitors LLP recently received a winding up order, which put an end to a turbulent past few months for the firm.
In October, the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) intervened into the practise after the firm, located on 523-525 Green Lane, Ilford, Essex, failed to comply with rules under the Administration of Justice Act 1985.
Furthermore, the regulator’s intervention was authorised after it had grounds to suspect dishonesty from an employee of a recognised body connected with the firm.
This led to the regulator to step in, seize all funds held by the firm and freeze it from operating to protect the interests of clients. John Gould of Russell Cooke LLP of 2 Putney Hill, London was appointed as the intervening agent.
The winding up petition was filed against the firm a day before the SRA publicized its action.
On its website, Nationwide Solicitors LLP said: “We aim to provide high quality legal advice combined with value for money and believe our rates are very competitive.”
“We at Nationwide Solicitors are proud of our excellent reputation of completing purchase or sale transactions swiftly and smoothly as possible. Rest assured we will guide you step by step throughout the whole process, making it pleasurable and painless as possible,” it also added.
The firm was wound up by the court on the 4th February, which means the company will be closed and its assets sold off to repay any debts.
