p>A pirate ship, a skate park and a building shaped like a giant basket - just three weird and wonderful offices from around the world.
The Weekender has scoured the globe to find some of its wackiest offices, and here are our top 10.
10. Saxo Bank
Saxo Bank’s head office in Denmark is filled with modern art… so far so good, dinosaur skeletons… a bit odd, and a boy on a diving board… yes, a boy on a diving board.
This piece of modern art hangs over a balcony in what looks like the bank’s communal area.
Well, at least it’s a good conversation starter.
9. The Metrick System
Bored of those treks around the office and always being late for meetings?
Well, employees at Toronto-based ad firm Metrick, drive blue golf carts instead.
A sure-fire way to improve punctuality - unless they end up racing each other up and down the corridors.
8. Google
The online giant is renowned for its creative office spaces with strange features, but this is taking things to another level.
For those of you who feel trapped in meetings all day, you can literally be locked in – and put behind bars.
And if the boss is really getting to you, one room even has padded walls!
7. Tenon Tours
Ever want to nip off quietly to the pub?.. or even better, have the pub come to you…
Massachusetts-based Tenon Tours has the answer with an innovative ‘improvement’.
Its office has an Irish theme, which includes a pub and street light. Perfect.
6. Distilled Spirits Council
The Distilled Spirits Council continues with the pub theme, but takes things to the limit.
At the firm’s Washington DC offices almost every employee has a fully stocked bar!
Well, it must be 5 o’clock… somewhere.
5. YouTube
The video-sharing website brings to life one of the nation’s favourite sitcoms.
Part of YouTube’s London bureau has been modelled on Del Boy’s living room from the Only Fools and Horses set.
4. Epic
Meeting rooms can be dull, boring, stuffy places.
But, Wisconsin-based Epic bucks the trend with some unique spaces for its get-togethers.
They include tree houses and corridors made to look like New York subways… Not so great if you hate the commute into work.
3. Inventionland
Are you like Peter Pan and never want to grow up?
Why not work in the Pittsburgh offices of Inventionland?
To remind you of your childhood, it has a racing track, a pirate ship and a gingerbread house.
Wonder how much work gets done there?
2. Comvert
The Milan office of Comvert has an incredibly odd top floor.
It contains a suspended skateboard rink dubbed the ‘Bastard Bowl’.
No real surprise given that the company was founded by a sk8er boi - but what a great way to end a meeting.
1. Longaberger Basket Company
One of the oddest-ever offices can be found in Ohio.
Most companies want their place of work to reflect something about the firm - although the designer in this case may have been taken that request too literally.
Longaberger’s office is in the shape of an actual basket… with handles. Now, that’s a statement!
