Proud to be English

.

Well as I type I'm once again in the midst of another 4 day break from work, call me sad but I'm fed up of them, two in two weeks is a joke. I've got business to attend too but there's no one out there… oh well, I'll be bright as a button on Tuesday morning. In fact, this week for a change I'll look at local life and the news, rather than my business.

It's been a bad weekend all round, at the match on Saturday I had to witness my team drawing to the Dingles, but still getting relegated to the third tier of English football, well a crumb of comfort is that there'll be a Steel city derby next season. The last time we met in the 3rd tier in the 1979/80 season we set the crowd records, over 90,000 saw the Blades play the pigs in the two games, (you didn't need a bank loan to pay for match day tickets in those days). For those of you that don't know the banter in the‘people’s democratic republic of South Yorkshire’, there's no love lost between us Dee Dars in the South West of the county and the Dingles in the North. Mind you, the Dingles we met were stood staring at those metallic posts with coloured lights on top, we explained that they were traffic lights, they rubbed their six fingered hands together in glee at being let out in the city, sisters Kylie, Chelsea, and Chardonnay, all in their best frocks, kestrels sat on their shoulder pads, babby roaring in pram, whippets being led around the city on frayed string, the fatha in his NCB kneepads exclaiming that they were having a grand day. Funny to see the Dingle kids with their tongues stuck on shop windows. We say goodbye to "old Enery," this weekend, what a guy, makes me proud to be English, "put Saint George in my heart cos i'm English" and all that. William and Katie now well and truly wed, young Harry roaring in one's beer mug. I’ve got to admit I didn't go fishing, and only because our lass had it on, I did watch a bit of the Royal Wedding… again, it made me proud to be English. And then this morning, I sat up on bed, switched Sky news on, on the old iPad only to see all the headlines about Osama. I wasn't ready for that, now he's out of work is he Osama Bin Ladoff? Today's papers saw the usual whinging from Fergie and co. It must be so boring being a fan of Chelski, or Manure, or the shell suit brigade on the Mersey, unlike us lot they aren't looking forward to a tour of the backwaters of our green and pleasant land, there's no outings to the likes of Yeovil, or Carlisle for them. Got to admit though, even though I'll risk the wrath of Mr Deacon at Masthaven, that Chelski goal wasn't over the line, as "owd Arry Redknap" said, bring in goal line technology, I agree, it really is absurd in this day and age. Anyway, enough of this, I'm not a news reader, tomorrow morning It's back to the grind stone, a couple of cases lingering around that I really need to place. I've got to start the day telling another client that Lloyds commercial have now decided to decline his funding application due to their ridiculous stress testing, this is becoming a regular occurrence, getting the High street to open their purses is getting pathetic, this case will go through with a bank such as Aldermore, and although we have to give credit to Aldermore, it is a sad indictment on high street lenders. So next week’s blog should be back to normal, talking about bridging and commercial, here's to a busy week.
