Challenger bank hires former Lloyds director

Cambridge & Counties Bank has appointed Simon Hilyer as its new business development manager (BDM) for the North and Scotland.

Simon has 24 years of experience in asset finance and joins from Lloyds Bank where he was an associate director in corporate asset finance.

Cambridge & Counties specialises in hire purchase, finance leases and chattel mortgages to UK businesses and was recently named New Challenger of the Year for 2016 at the Leasing World Awards.

The bank, which is headquartered in Leicester, also has offices in Cambridge, Bristol, Sheffield and Birmingham.

Simon said: “I’m looking forward to working with finance brokers and their customers to help businesses invest and grow, from Yorkshire to all points north.

“For a relatively new team, there is vast experience of asset finance, allied to Cambridge & Counties’ personal and flexible approach of ‘can-do’ lending.”

Mike Oxby, director of asset finance, said: “Simon brings an extensive knowledge of asset finance and business.

“His arrival shows our appetite to lend and our desire to be a speedy, straightforward partner for businesses in the North and Scotland.”
