The challenger bank has seen a significant rise in customers since hitting the 100,000 milestone just three and a half months ago.
The announcement comes a month after Monzo became a fully authorised bank whereby it could begin the process of offering current accounts to existing users.
- Challenger bank becomes fully authorised
- 15 new banks could enter market
- Monzo agrees £19.5m investment round ahead of current account launch
Tristan Thomas, head of marketing and community at Monzo, thanked everyone who had helped the challenger bank reach the landmark figure.
“We can’t wait to welcome many more people to Monzo over the coming months, both on our beta prepaid cards and on the Monzo current account later this year.
“The waiting list to get a card is now just one week, so if you haven’t taken the plunge yet, now’s your chance.”
