To keep up with the demand, the specialist packager has hired half a dozen staff in recent months, including Alan Halligan, a specialist lending expert with 20 years of experience, to strengthen its commercial property division and Mark Doyle, formerly with V Loans, to head up its business development.
Thistle has reported that other senior appointments will be made in the coming months as it looks to move into a larger central Edinburgh office in the autumn.

“It’s been a hectic first year and everyone at team Thistle is delighted to have beaten our target,” said Mark Dyason, founder of Thistle Finance (pictured above).
“Our run rate is picking up all the time and we have had to proactively hire in order to keep up with demand from brokers.
“We’re currently in discussions with multiple lenders about helping them launch new products into the market, both in Scotland and the UK more generally.
“The specialist lending market is a huge growth sector and we’re thrilled to be playing a part in driving that growth.”
