Primus Finance rebrands with plans to expand into commercial and term finance sectors

Primus Finance has rebranded as FinSpace Group and intends to expand into the commercial and term finance sectors.

The London-based specialist finance brokerage — which will be soft launching into commercial and term finance in Q2 — has rebranded and introduced a new website to reflect the company’s offering and technology focus.

In an exclusive interview with Bridging & Commercial, Dave Fathers, head of bridging and development at FinSpace Group (pictured above), explained that its expansion into the commercial space was “purely down to demand”.

“As we arrange a lot of short-term bridging and development finance for our clients, we are happy to say that there are occasions that are becoming more and more frequent where the borrower is looking to retain the properties and add them to their portfolio, instead of disposing of them through sale.

“We already have good experience within this field, so we feel it will be a natural fit.

“We will continue to focus on our direct relationships with our clients and we are pleased to confirm that we have been shown a lot of support from our lender partners, and our panel is already looking robust.”

Following a “successful” first year of trading under its belt, the brokerage felt it was the right time to bring a “new, sharp and modern feel” to the company.

“The team is well established, and we are now looking for new members to further bolster the team, which will continue to be run by the same management,” Dave added.

Harry Platts, head of operations at FinSpace Group, stated: “We have a deep technology pedigree and we are looking to bring this more to the forefront of our day-to-day operations.

“A lot of work is being carried out in the background and this will help us serve our clients and lending partners even better than before.”

This year, the brokerage also aims to make five or six further appointments in the business development, marketing and consulting/case management areas to assist with increased business levels.

“Dave Fathers and Harry Platts have become integral to the team and I am pleased to announce they will be new shareholders within FinSpace Group,” added Graham Beresford, co-founder and managing director at FinSpace Group.
