Brightstar Group unveils activity programme for International Women's Day

The Brightstar Group is hosting a variety of activities across Brightstar Financial and Sirius Property Finance to mark International Women’s Day today (8th March).

Developed to highlight this year’s ‘Embrace Equity’ theme, the activities will revolve around building understanding and awareness around the difference between equity and equality.

The business will also organise various workshops which will focus on some key issues for women in the workplace and how these can serve as barriers when it come to opportunity, progress and achievement.

Topics for focus and discussion will include relationship breakdown, pregnancy, parenting, menopause and women’s health issues — colleagues from both businesses will talk about how these issues can affect women’s work and will share experiences of how such issues have impacted them personally and are managed in the workplace.

One activity will focus specifically on the menopause, with outcomes of this contributing to the development of a new framework of good practice for managing this key issue across the Brightstar Group.

Clare Jupp, Brightstar Group’s director of people development (pictured above), said: “The Group continues to place a huge emphasis on diversity and inclusion in its entirety and our observance of International Women’s Day is a key event in our ongoing commitment to this.

“We continue to focus on issues that are potential barriers for progress and which can affect a positive work experience.”
