She brings extensive underwriting experience to the new role, gained from her previous work at several firms — including MT Finance and UTB.
According to Albatross, Bhavisha’s appointment will be key to help it manage a significant increase in enquiry levels.
Commenting on her appointment, Bhavisha said: “I have followed Albatross from afar for a while and have been impressed by its presence within the bridging industry.
“I’m excited to step into my new position — which will be more of an entrepreneurial role — giving me the opportunity to get stuck into a variety of areas of the business.
“It will not only allow me to be exposed and build on my skill set, but also give me the opportunity to lead my own internal underwriting team and support Albatross’s growth plans.”

Sophie Ambrose, head of operations at Albatross Capital
This news is complemented by the recent promotion of Sophie Ambrose from operations executive to head of operations.
Sophie joined Albatross in March 2022 as an administration assistant, but according to Albatross Capital, her “natural operational flair and commitment” projected her to a senior position in a short space of time.
Her new role involves managing the operational team, systems, and controls, in addition to supporting the lender’s funding lines and investor base.
Sophie commented: “When joining Albatross, a firm at the time that was made up of just Lewis (Casserley, co-founder and principal of Albatross) and Jordan (Fearnley Brown, co-founder and principal of Albatross) I wasn’t sure what to expect.
“Working so closely with the two of them in every aspect of the business has allowed me to quickly develop a broad and deep knowledge of both the lending market, and Albatross’s values and USPs.

“From being the first employee at the firm, we’ve spent a lot of time on culture, both internally and externally — there’s never a dull day at Albatross!
“The trust that Lewis and Jordan have in me is what strives me to be the best version of myself possible.”
Sophie told B&C that she had always wanted to work her way up in the company, but didn’t realise it would happen this quickly.
She said she was excited by the prospect of increased responsibility, freedom in the workplace, and the opportunity to build a strong and vibrant team.
Commenting on Sophie’s progression with the company, Lewis stated: “We needed someone like-minded, [who was] able to come in, take on responsibility and get stuck into every aspect of the business — particularly operationally.
“It was a hire based on gut feel more than anything; Sophie carries herself with an immense level of professionalism and it was clear that she’d be able to get on board with our vision.
“We had no idea she would flourish so quickly… [and] we’re excited to continue supporting her and watching her prosper.”
Speaking more broadly about the company expansion, Lewis added: “The further growth of the team was essential to maintaining our position [in the market].
“We continue to strive to be better, both as a company to work with, and a company to work for.
“The next stage of our growth is going to be an exciting one — watch this space!”
The young co-founders of Albatross, Lewis and Jordan, started the lending business during the Covid pandemic.
Within a few years, the company has spread its wings after securing multiple funding lines and launching new products.
The business aims to continue to grow its loan book and team — with scope within the team to flourish into management roles — while enhancing its charitable and environmental objectives for 2023.
