Knowledge Bank launches new affordability calculator tool for brokers

Knowledge Bank has launched its residential affordability calculator, AffCalc, to support brokers with affordability assessments.

The new feature, which is an add-on feature for subscribed users, is currently available on a limited distribution basis with a full launch to follow in October.

Developed through 2025 and shaped by broker feedback, AffCalc will allow brokers to edit client data as they go, making complex affordability checks more efficient and accurate.

Jessica Folkes, head of mortgage sales at Dynamo, commented: "This is a great new platform from Knowledge Bank.

“AffCalc will really help streamline sourcing cases and fundamentally help more clients. It saves brokers from using multiple platforms for a single case.”

Nicola Firth, CEO and founder of Knowledge Bank (pictured above), said: “We are incredibly proud to bring to market another industry first from Knowledge Bank, with the launch of our affordability calculator.

“AffCalc delivers highly personalised and accurate results in seconds.

“It moves away from the ‘numbers-in-numbers-out’ models and provides brokers with an intelligent calculator that will only return results where the lender will lend, taking into consideration criteria that affect affordability as well as the figures.

“This stops brokers from spending time on cases where the affordability fits but where it later falls down on criteria.

“Lenders can also have confidence in the cases they receive from brokers using AffCalc as it’s using criteria data input directly by them to drive reliable and accurate results.”
