According to an article in Forbes magazine, borro has been named as one of the top six UK companies listed on FinTech50; a list made up exclusively of Europe’s most exciting financial technology businesses.
The lender appeared alongside companies such as DueDIl.com, FreeAgent, Funding Circle, GoCardless and Wonga on a list where over half those listed were British businesses.
Claire Gates, Managing Director at borro, said: "We are delighted to be included in Forbes’ article as one of their top six 'Best Financial Technology Companies in the UK'. A lot of hard work and innovation has gone into designing a seamless service that leverages all the benefits of the internet and new technology out there on offer, which ultimately powers our processes and improves the overall customer experience. We believe that the adoption of new technology is a key factor in our success."
Forbes reported that Britain’s financial technology sector is booming, accounting for a third of the total global investment in the industry. According to Silicon Valley Bank, the UK was only second to the US, while the rest of the EU is only attracting “a tenth of the finance flowing into British firms.”
The FinTech50 is a watchlist that specifically focuses on financial technology, hence the name. The list was founded by companies working across various sectors from finance to PR: Icon Corporate Finance, Hotwire, FoxWillams, Silicon Valley Bank and The CEO Agenda.
The panel is made up of 10 financial tech experts working in the financial sector from companies across Europe.
FinTech50 is in its second year.
