Lynda Blackwell, the FCA leader responsible for monitoring conduct in the mortgage market, will be speaking on Wednesday the 24th of September. The theme of her seminar will be "MMR [Mortgage Market Review] and how implementation will shape the new market." She is also tipped to explain the consultation process of the EU-related changes to buy-to-let regulation, with emphasis on the possible effects of this new law on the domestic lettings market.
From the event programme: "The FCA will talk about how the MMR final rules have landed, an update on current live issues that the regulator is considering, and what happens next as we ready ourselves for the Mortgage Credit Directive."
The Head of the Consumer Credit Authorisation Division, Mr David Fisher, will attend on Thursday the 25th. In light of the recent FCA takeover of lender oversight, he will clarify the licensing process that the industry must go through this year. His seminar is titled "The impact of consumer credit moving to The FCA and how to be ready to have the correct permissions." The main topic of this conversation will be lending regulation, its present and future.
The event takes place at Old Billingsgate in the City of London.
