p>For those who forgot it’s Valentine’s Day!
Have you just woken up and realised you have forgotten all about V Day? Well fortunately for you, Medianett has compiled four last minute Valentine’s Day ideas, to ensure your weekend doesn’t go uncompromised.
1. The perfect film
Most people will be flocking to the local multiplex to catch a glimpse of 50 Shades of Grey, including those who were fans of the book and those that didn’t get on the bandwagon the first time, but are now curious to find out what all the fuss is about.
However, if you have forgotten to book the tickets after a busy week at work and it’s already sold out, why not look at alternative movies?
Rather than the long queues at the cinema, rifle through your DVD collection and see what love films you have, maybe it’s the one you watched on your first date - surely a guaranteed winner, making you look like a great romantic!
If you can’t find the perfect movie, then never fear, Netflix has produced a list of its top 10 romantic films, where ‘Sleepless in Seattle’ is features as its number one romantic flick.
2. Wine and dine
A similar problem to the cinema experience - everywhere is likely to be full, especially those uber-efficient couples who booked their table last Valentine’s Day for this meal.
In that case, at the last minute, why not make your partner their favourite meal from home?
Luckily, Valentine’s Day falls on a Saturday, so why not learn some fancy tips to cook your loved one the perfect meal by checking out the plethora of cooking shows on a Saturday morning.
A few candles, dimmed lights, and some easy listening will be much more romantic than your local Italian restaurant has to offer.
3. A grand day out
Taking a trip to a romantic destination is always a winner – especially if it is somewhere you have always wanted to visit.
After cooking up your loved one a romantic breakfast, (to make up for the present you forgot), jump in the car and speed off somewhere romantic.
Whether it’s a trip to a place of natural beauty, the place of your first date, or even where you first met, these can be arranged perfectly at the last minute and are guaranteed to pull on those heart strings.
With the weather set fair for the weekend, you could even embrace the outdoors, such as taking in the beautiful scenery on a countryside walk.
4. The romance of The Cup
What is more romantic than the FA Cup?
Yes, we know it’s a risky one, especially after forgetting a present, but after a passionate fourth round where little old Bradford shocked the world by knocking out money-bags Chelsea, surely the romance of the world’s oldest cup competition is still alive and kicking?
Start the day with West Bromwich Albion verses West Ham United at 12:45, then begin a romantic evening with a replay of the famous 1990 semi-final classic of Crystal Palace verses Liverpool.
To fill the gap, you can even turnover to the blood and thunder of the Rugby Six Nations and England verses Italy at 2.30 - surely nothing is more romantic than the operatic Italian national anthem?
Yes, it’s a long shot, but if you never try, you’ll never know.
If all these fail, we apologise, although hopefully it will teach you to just remember the card and present next year!
