The specialist lender has recently appointed Thomas Clark to head up its bridging team, after working as Regional Development Manager at Shawbrook Bank for over three years.

Tom also previously held Director roles at Santander and RBS for a number of years.

Tom stated that his decision to join the lender was down to the “opportunity and the challenge” to head up and create the bridging side of the business which will be coming to market with a fresh range of products in September this year.

“Essentially we are a traditional lender but we have got some really ambitious plans,” Tom added, stating that there was a good feel to the team.

Tom also explained that Wellesley was looking to grow the panel come August, when it would be targeting the NACFB brokers.

“We want to build the right brokers for us who can give us quality clients and in exchange give them a really good service.”

Wellesley, which offers bridging loans from £150k-£3m, with an average bridging loan at £500k, is set to come out with some “very competitive pricing” later this year.

The lender stated that it will stand out in the market this year with its pricing, service and speed.

Wellesley will also be launching a new online platform for brokers mid-September in order to create an efficient service. The system will also be compatible with android, apple and PC.

While the firm currently has up to 30 staff, Wellesley has informed B&C that it will be further bolstering the bridging team later this year.
