The platform wants to give fans the opportunity to support their club financially through a number of crowdfunding campaigns.

Former Juventus and Chelsea footballer Gianluca Vialli is a supporter of Tifosy and states on their website:” I truly believe Tifosy takes fan engagement to a brand new level and can change the future of the beautiful game.

“This is the beginning of a new era. This is a football revolution and I am proud to support it.”

Tifosy has already helped Portsmouth Football Club build a youth academy after it raised £270,000 to become the largest football crowdfunding project in the UK.

“The two-month Pompey campaign was a runaway success story,” said Mark Catlin, CEO of Portsmouth Community Football Club.

“The target was hit with three days to spare and eventually topped £270,000.

“I’d have no hesitation in endorsing the Tifosy fanfunding concept and in asking Tifosy to run a campaign for us again.”

The platform’s latest project is to help raise €150,000 for struggling Italian club Parma of which €45,877 have been raised.

Investors can become a shareholder, have their name engraved on the wall of fame, receive a signed football shirt or spend a day with the team, depending on the size of their donation.
