p>Hampshire Trust Bank has become the latest firm to join the Association of Short Term Lenders (ASTL).

The challenger bank takes the number of full members to 31 and brings further diversity to ASTL’s membership as it looks to balance its short term lending sphere.

Benson Hersch, Chief Executive of ASTL, said increasing its membership was important to ASTL as it needed to better represent the short term lending market.

"Hampshire Trust Bank puts the customers' needs at the forefront of its business, which mirrors the ASTL's ethos of honesty and integrity,” said Benson.

“I am sure it will be a great addition to our membership and we look forward to its active participation."

David Morris, Managing Director of ASTL, added that the association and the Hampshire Bank’s values were very closely aligned.

“The association has helped to change the way the industry looks at the short term lending market in a positive way,” added David.

“As members we not only look forward to its support but also to being actively involved in taking the ASTL forward."
