Simon Featherstone joins Shawbrook from the SME finance specialist to head up the asset, invoice and wholesale finance teams.
He will also work with the lender’s existing teams to build an integrated SME financing business which will operate from six regional centres.
Before joining Bibby, Simon was managing director of Lloyds TSB Commercial Finance and Lloyds Banking Group’s regional ambassador for the Midlands.
Steve Pateman, Chief Executive Officer at Shawbrook, said Simon has an excellent track record in SME lending and was delighted that he was joining the challenger bank.
“Increasingly business customers want a holistic approach to lending and Simon will help us to bring our asset finance, invoice finance and wholesale finance offerings together to build out a broader SME financing proposition to meet this demand,” said Steve.

Towards the end of last year, Shawbrook announced the appointment of a new regional support executive and revealed that a former senior adviser to the FCA was joining it as a non-executive director.
