During the same period, Barclays was the most complained about financial firm, receiving a total of 279,561 complaints, but all lenders in the top five saw a decrease from the first half.
Christopher Woolard, Director of Strategy and Competition at the FCA, said: “It is positive to see that the longer term reduction in the volume of complaints has continued into the latest period.
“Firms seem to have taken on board our previous feedback on levels of complaints and we are slowly seeing firms address these issues.
“However, firms still need to do all they can to reduce complaints and ensure that they are working in the best interests of consumers.”
In terms of general insurance and pure protection complaints, including payment protection insurance, Lloyds Bank received the most at 152,149, while Barclays was second on 136,433 and Bank of Scotland third on 120,444.
Payment Protection Insurance remains the most complained about product, where complaints had risen by 6% in H2 2015.
Overall, there were 2.11 million new complaints in the second half of 2015, a fall of 1.4% on the previous six months, and the total redress paid out to customers fell to £1.97bn.
