Avamore appoints new principal

Short-term property finance specialist Avamore Capital has announced the appointment of a new principal.

Former City lawyer and European property developer Amit Majithia will bring Avamore over 15 years of legal, development and investment experience.

Michael Dean, also a Principal at Avamore Capital, said: “We are extremely pleased to have found in Amit a person that brings with him a wide range of skills, including those gained as a property lawyer and investment director for a property development company.

“Amit will help us greatly in Avamore’s continued expansion in the short-term development lending and bridging space.”

Starting his career at City law firm Taylor Wessing, Amit later moved to the Baltics as an investment director for a development firm that specialised in large mixed-use city projects.

Amit said Avamore is a “fast-growing and exciting platform”, with an established track record in providing a range of loans to property developers, investors and entrepreneurs.

He added: “We have an acute supply shortage in the residential sector and strong growth in the retail and office sectors, but increasingly traditional sources cannot or will not satisfy the demand for debt finance from small- to medium-sized developers.

“Avamore Capital therefore provides essential capital into the market for these groups.

“I look forward to joining the already very impressive team and helping to continue the firm’s growth.”
