Landbay launches online rent check tool

Peer-to-peer lending platform has launched an online rent check tool for landlords and tenants.

Landbay’s postcode search widget allows users to compare the rents of properties in an area using data from the lending platform’s monthly rental index, which is powered by independent valuation service provider MIAC Acadametrics.

The index records monthly and annual changes in advertised rents by geographical location and number of bedrooms in the property.

It can also be used to check the changes in rent for a particular property over time.

John Goodall, CEO and co-founder of Landbay, commented: “The UK is in the midst of a housing crisis and a severe supply/demand imbalance, meaning the rental property market is buoyant.

“Together, Landbay’s rental index and the rent check tool will give both tenants and landlords a simple way of accessing data from across the UK, not only providing an in-depth view of the market, but helping inform their next move.

“In times of low interest rates and a lack of home ownership and affordability, we’re pleased to be able to offer people a way of affirming the rent they are paying in their region.”

Landbay, which launched in 2013, specialises in buy-to-let finance and recently launched an exclusive partnership with Zoopla Property Group.
